These are flat panels designed to look just like and to exactly replace a standard ceiling tile.
They are ideal installation items in corridors and offices. Apart from running the cable, installation consists of removing the existing tile and putting a WXT-04 in its place. They can be painted and also mounted in a frame. We have even used them in a church installation mounted in frames and in lecture halls replacing tiles on the ceiling. They are ideal for voice propagation, but the low frequency drops off rapidly so they are no good on their own for music.
Because of the NXT technology they are run at extremely low s.p.l. , nevertheless the sound dispersion is unbelievable. When Wharfedale first bought them out they demonstrated them in a large church by disconnecting the large number of column loudspeakers and putting a loudpanel in front of the pulpit and the lectern - the results were truly amazing.
They have 100V. transformers built in.
When Wharfedale discontinued this model we bought a huge quantity and are steadily wading through them ourselves. Normally they sell at over £100 each in installations. They are packed six to a box and because there is no way we could economically pack one individually will only sell in units of six.
